Why paint

Painting is a language I understand. When I was a child, drawing meant fun and shelter, As a teenager, after crush on comics I came across painting. This encounter felt as natural as can be. All of sudden, I was discovering the history of art as a whole (Nicolas de Stael, Antoni Tapies, Jean Fautrier, Robert Rauschenberg) regardless of Chronology or hierarchy (Jean Baptiste Siméon Chardin, Edouard Manet, Claude Monnet) and it suited me perfectly. The Vocabulary of painting suit me as it is simple and straightforward. Painting allows you to travel in space and time without ever taking a step out of your studio. the logistics is light enough and offers an infinite range of possibilities. I like it as it is both simple and sophisticated, deep and petty, childish and serious.
